Ever been in a meeting–the phone rings and you can’t take that call? Or when someone calls and you don’t want to talk with the caller right then? Or maybe you are focused on a project and don’t want to be disturbed until you’re ready for a break?
Our Don’t Disturb features can help you! The “Face Down” mode allows you to turn your phone down, face toward the table, in a quick and easy motion. That sends callers directly to your voicemail, and can send a customizable SMS message to your caller if you choose. You can also set a time during which you won’t receive calls, after which the phone returns to normal mode.
The message in Don’t Disturb settings (shown here) is the same message that you’ll see as your default when you decline an incoming call. (This message is also customizable in the call response screen for each call.) You’re busy? Let your callers know!
Busy and can’t take that call right now? Our Inbound Call Assistance will help you respond to your caller. No more un-responded to calls!
When you decline an incoming call, you’re able to send a text message (SMS) to your caller saying that you’re busy, you will call later, or whatever you wish to say. You’ll also be able to set a reminder in your calendar to return the call.
So what’s new? In our Android app (version .934) you can send your message from your Google Voice account! Make this choice with each call (as shown to the left, a button on the screen), or you can go into the Don’t Disturb settings and check the box to Send text via Google Voice for all call response messages.
We’re excited to have been chosen as one of only seven companies to present to the Telecom Council’s Service Provider and Investor Forum meeting on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 in Palo Alto, California. This is an exciting opportunity for us as we emerge from being a young and growing innovator.
Here’s a brief description of what this forum is all about:
The Service Provider and Investor Forum (SPIF) exists so that colleagues with similar goals and duties can gather and share ideas, contacts, opportunities, and knowledge during the informal sessions. The member carriers have telecom operations across the globe, but usually have an office in the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue investment, technology, and partnership opportunities. At each meeting, we review a few interesting young companies who are seeking funding, strategic investment and/or have a product or service that would be useful to the carriers in attendance.
When you first open PhoneTell, our app looks to see where you are. This is important in order to give you search results that are relevant to your location.
There are a number of ways to figure this out: is your GPS on? Can we triangulate from nearby cell phone towers? Does your data provider have a location for the IP number that you’re using? At least one of those will give us a clue.
If you want to change your location or be more specific, you can change your location, and even save new locations for that trip you’re planning. Click on the location bar or the “use current” compass to update.
Did you know that PhoneTell Search brings the power of the world’s largest phonebook right to your Android phone?
When you enter the name of a friend, colleague or business in the PhoneTell Search box, PhoneTell checks your phone contacts, your linked social network contacts and more than 300 million public listings in order to bring you exactly the number you need.
Because the patent-pending PhoneTell search algorithms use a wide variety of factors…such as location and time of day…the focus is on bringing you the most accurate local search results available. Who needs a number that’s 30 miles away?
Need a restaurant that’s around the corner…and open? Nails need a touch up? Need road service for your car at 2 a.m.? Or maybe just the number of a local pal whose number you forgot? Let PhoneTell find it for you.
Here’s a little video to tell you more about our location-based searching.
QR codes are a square barcode containing the address of our mobile site or how to find our app in the Android Market. If your phone has a barcode reader, use your camera to focus on a code and you’ll be prompted to go to a site, or share the link with your friends, or other things (depending on what kind of information is in that code).
Many companies provide barcode readers that you can install on your phone. These will each take you to a different place on the web.
